Do you think facial piercings are trashy ?

i asked my mom could i get a monroe piercing and she said NO! they look trashy. how can a piercing make you look trashy? do you think its trashy , if so why?Do you think facial piercings are trashy ?
It all depends on how it's done and how you present yourself. I'm 41 years old, and just got a labret piercing. (I currently have 10 total - besides ears, the only other one on my face is an eyebrow).





But I am clean cut, well educated, and polished. I sometimes surprise people, but I do not look trashy at all. I'm a white-collar businessman.Do you think facial piercings are trashy ?
They can. I think if done the wrong way they can look trashy. I've seen girls with monroes and the gem is just really huge and it takes over their face and doesn't look good to me.





I have my lip and nose pierced. I have a tiny opal stone on my nose and a tiny diamond next to my lip. I've had people know me for a year and look at me and ask me how long I've had one of them because they've never noticed them. I like very subtle facial piercings...not a lot.





But if your mom doesn't like them then you're just going to have to go with that and wait until you're older to get it done.
I don't have piercings. I have a lot of hours of ink. Piercings aren't what melts my butter. But to each their own. I'm a tattoo artist, and the man I apprenticed under does all the piercings in the shop. I love his work, 'cause he's good! And a gifted tattoo artist, as well. He pushes ink three days a week. His piercings are beyond reproach. But he has none of his own. Trashy? Hell no. You can look like you want in America. That's the beauty of the Bill of Rights. And if you were to pick a beautiful piercing, the Monroe is it.
I don't necessarily think that monroes look trashy when done right (i.e. just like a small diamond stud or something,) but the first person who answered had the right idea. It gives off a certain impression to people. Some jobs won't hire because of visible piercings, so it really depends on what you plan to do in the long run. Celebrities and tattoo artists can get away with it because their jobs don't really mind. If you want to be a doctor or lawyer...I'm not really sure how anyone would handle it.

it depends on the person you speak to.....i personally think that they don't look trashy and i think that they can look amazing on people who have the right facial features.

i hate monroes i think they are very trashy i had one for like a week when i was a sophmore in hs then took it out cos i realized how dumb it looked
i have both sides of my top lip pierced(double monroe) i don't think its trashy or looks trashy at all. well i know im not so i wouldn't like people to judge me on my appearance alone.
Only chavs on council estates have them in the UK.





Otherwise, they're passe and 90s now. Monroe piercings look like giant ZITS anyway!





If they weren't considered trashy, you would see them on runway models.
depends on who's wearing them of course. some piercings look awful on people some look GREAT. ultimately depends on perception. there's always people who love or hate piercings. so no definite answer.
They're not trashy, I have my nose pierced without my mum knowing, lol.


and I really want to get a monroe piecing too, but my mum's like yours. -.-''
Not trashy but it gives people a certain impression about you. It may be wrong but it's there. Personally I think they are distracting. I know people who can't stop chewing on their lip rings and it makes them look a little odd.

No, but some people will classify you as something your not. My mom said the same thing to but eventually i got mine ; )

I dont think they do at all! I think they look really nice especially the monroe.
Only on certain people. I think some people look trashy with facial piercings and some people look really good :)
I think that monroes and nose peircings aren't trashy but anything else is. I almost got a monroe.

Not trashy at all, I have two facial piercings so far and want 3 more.



if for some reason u dont like the monroe then u can always take it out.. but remember ur stuck with a hole in your lip for life.. it wont heal over
