Why didn't the majority of full-blooded Native Americans have facial hair?

just noticing in old pictures fom the 1800s etc, i haven't seen one man with facial hair. (i'm sure there must have been someone so i phrased my question as such.) Is there a reason for this ?Why didn't the majority of full-blooded Native Americans have facial hair?
For some reason our mean rarely have facial hair, Genetically the men in my family have not been able to grow facial hair. Why didn't the majority of full-blooded Native Americans have facial hair?
I think it depends on the tribe. I'm a member of the Cherokee tribe and let me assure you some of our men have lots of facial and body hair to the point of looking like a grizzly bear. While other men in the tribe can't even grow hair on their armpit. It seems to run in families within the tribe whether they have a lot of body or facial hair. Perhaps it has something to do with whether the tribe has Asian background? As I've read the Navajo people have a language that traces back to Siberia and living near the Navajo reservation let me tell you many of them look Asian and not Native American. The Navajo rarely have much facial hair and also the Hopi men are always smooth faced from the ones I've met.

Oh and the early Natives did shave by the way just not with razors. Try semi sharp knives and stone blades.
two reasons,

one its a cultivated trait. much like the acquiring blond hair. a guy marries a blond, they in turn make blond lil babies...their kids marry other blonds...and have more blond babies....etc.

second.....facial hair raised health issues. ticks, chiggers, and whatnot dug in and made a pest out of themselves. many methods were used to rid oneself of body hair. early forms of shaving, with extremely sharp blades of mica or other types of splittable rock, tweezing, plucking, and even raw lye was placed upon the skin to burn the hair follicles.

So yes they had hair. But each tribe differed from the next. some had next to none, some had more.
It just doesn't grow.

I personally know some 'full bloods' that have full on ZZ TOP kinda beards, BUT they've been growing them for 15 an 20 years.

I have a small goat now, only took 3 months to get 1/2 inch long! LOL

Pre contact we used razor clams (look it up), some plucked it out, some even burned it off. After the steel knife came, shaving was easy.
They have very few. My men relatives used a spring to pull out their facial hair except for the ones that went to the service and they made them shave and that increased the facial hair. I'm half and don't shave my legs but very seldom but do shave under my arms but not hairy like white girls!
Lucky of the genetic draw? Just like many of our Men don't go bald. We are one smokin hot group of people :)

Some did have facial hair, many who did removed it. Today is the same, some can grow facial hair, some can not, many who can shave.
it's myth that full Native Americans can't grow facial full Native Americans can grow facial but only in small patches
Most men who belong to the Mongoloid race can not grow facial hair. I have a Filipino friend who is 3 years older than me. He is 27 and I am 24, yet because I am White I can grow alot more facial hair even though I am younger than him.
because they are not native Americans. they are of the Mongoloid race which is Asian. they migrated to America from Asia. notice most Asians have very little facial hair.
