If you cut someones head off, what facial expression will they have?

If you cut someones head off what facial expression would they have if they were face down on a guillotine like device. If they were smiling before would they have enough time to frown because of the pain. Would they be able to sever the spinal cord quick enough to not let them have a final facial expressionIf you cut someones head off, what facial expression will they have?

... haha bad images...
During the French Revolution, many of the people who were beheaded by the Guillotine did have expressions, usually shock, horror and rage, and several actually had time to mouth words they could no longer speak and one of them stuck it's tongue out at the crowd and another one tried to spit. The suddenness of losing your head gives you a few seconds to react after your head has been severed from your body.
In the beheadings I've seen, the expression usually resembles that of sleep. When you lift the head up(holding it by the hair, for example) the jaw drops and it does seem as if they are in utter shock. Some expressions might have been different, I can't remember. But for the most part the eyes and mouth were closed.
Good question. I had that same question when I was younger. You can't fully disable all the nreves in the body because its the brain that wires them up if that makes any sense to you.
