A question about laser hair removal for facial hair?

Won't the laser beam catch hair that has already grown to its full length?

Does the hair HAVE to be in the growth phase? Can't it be in the resting phase?

Please explain.A question about laser hair removal for facial hair?
Prior to having treatment, you shave the hair that resides external to the skin. If you did treat the external hair, you are correct in assuming that the external hair would block the laser light and impede the tx. By shaving the hair, you ensure that the laser is attracted to the hair shaft beneat the surface which can then deliver heat to the follicle and destroy it. For Laser Tx, the hair must be in the growth phase, if it is in the resting phase, there is no melanin(which is what the laser is attracted to) available and the laser will not heat the follicle area and destroy the follicle.A question about laser hair removal for facial hair?
There is Melanin throughout a hair shaft but during the resting phase there is no growth. The only melanin that exists at the resting point is the blood flow that feeds the follicle. I have always been told 5-8 weeks above the neck and 8-12 weeks below the neck for Tx intervals. Report Abuse

Its doesn't matter it targets the hair follicle and gets rid of it

Electrolysis and laser hair removal are “permanent” hair removal methods but are expensive and you have to find a trained professional, otherwise your skin could be damaged.
